Positano clings to the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast like a village that could slide into the sea at any moment, and yet has held its ground for centuries. Rose tones, terracotta and white stack up against the rock, bathed in the light of the setting sun. John Steinbeck once wrote that Positano "bites deep... it is a dream place that isn't quite real when you are there, and becomes beautifully real after you have gone." That beauty lives in this necklace, with 16 mm Murano glass beads in dusty rose, bronze and white, in a mix of shapes and sizes: large marbled lampwork beads alternating with faceted beads and fine bronze spacers. Handmade with the traditional lampwork technique by the glass masters at Corte Murrina on the island of Murano, the way artisans have for generations. I only have one of this piece: once it's gone, it won't come back.
